This letter from Sir Strachan is addressed to Commodore Sir William Cornwallis regarding the capture of the French frigate Resolue off Pondicherry in 1791. Strachan, who eventually rose to the rank of vice-admiral in the British Navy, was in command of the H.M.S. Phoenix during the battle. 2 quarto leaves.
