Briggs, Frank. Mohole Project. ca. 1960-1981 (MS 401)
Papers and materials related to the Mohole Project, which was an attempt to retrieve a sample of material from the earth's mantle by drilling a hole through the earth's crust to the Mohorovicic Discontinuity, or Moho. The drilling project lasted from 1961 to 1966. The collection includes publicity pieces, magazine articles, correspondence, project business records, designs, plans and a manuscript titled "Project Mohole." 15 inches.
