The bulk of these papers represent Marguerite Johnston Barnes’ writing and journalism career, from her early college years to her lengthy career at the Houston Post newspaper. Research materials related to the publications and unpublished works of Texas author/historian and public relations consultant James A. Clark. The materials deal directly with the oil industry primarily in the years of 1930-1960s.
Davies papers, 1924-1966 (MS 286)
The Joseph I. Davies papers include papers, lecture notes, glass slides, and transparencies produced by Davies, who came to Rice Institute (later Rice University) in 1914. The glass slides and transparencies taken by Davies include scenes of the early development of the Rice campus as well as later campus scenes and individuals. (2 boxes)

The papers of Fagan Dickson (1904-1977), Austin, Texas attorney active in the Democratic Party, include correspondence with both state and national political figures as well as Dickson's personal and business subject files clippings, published materials and notes, dating from 1950-1978. Dillingham Family papers, 1858-1958 (MS 257)
The Dillingham Family papers follow the history of a prominent Texas family through correspondence, manuscripts, printed material, photographs, journals, poetry, and newspaper clippings. The family moved into Texas during the prosperous era of the late nineteenth century and played an important role in developing both the social and economic framework of Houston.
