How to Search WRC's Archives & Manuscripts

Caution: The following search suggestions will only find what has been described on-line.
Not all our materials are described on-line and can only be located by contacting Woodson staff.
We're happy to help you locate materials.

1.) "Search This Site" button at the top of these pages acts as a keyword search throughout the Fondren Library's website (NOT the library catalog). Type in names of people, places, and things of interest to you. The resulting hit list will include whatever materials from the Woodson which include those keywords (and possibly materials from elsewhere on the Fondren website).

2.) Use the Manuscript Finding Aids to see information on collections listed by our main subject groupings. These aids provide brief collection descriptions and links to more detailed guides to the individual collections.

3.) On-line Catalog Records for Collections
The collections are also partially listed in the Fondren Library's on-line catalog. Click on the "Catalog" link at the top of this page.
These brief library catalog records serve as pointers to the more detailed guides to specific collections.
Search for collections as you would any published material, using names or titles associated with the collection whenever possible.
Many more records for the collections will be added to the Fondren on-line catalog and to OCLC's WorldCat database in the coming years.
