Miscellaneous
If funds are sufficient, most requests from business faculty and graduate students are purchased.

Journal requests are scrutinized closely because they will be an ongoing expense:

  1. if a new journal, a sample copy will be requested;
  2. the title is evaluated for its ability to enhance the collection and other, existing titles will be evaluated to termination;
  3. the calibre of the publisher will be evaluated.
ILL requests, especially for faculty, are monitored to identify possible new research or teaching interests. The faculty member is consulted.

Reference sources are added which will answer common questions and provide guidance to needed information.

Fondren Library's Business Collection relies heavily on government information, much of which is made available through the U.S. federal depository collection.
