Meet the Author: John B. Boles '65

Friends of Fondren Library's Meet the Author Co-Chairs Kristin Necessary '01 and Mindy Vanderford '84 invite you to join us for a special event featuring John B. Boles '65, the William P. Hobby Professor of History at Rice University and the former editor of the Journal of Southern History, who will discuss his book "Jefferson: Architect of American Liberty." A question-and-answer session and casual reception will follow. 


2017 Reception Honoring Rice University Authors, Editors, Composers and Artists

On Wednesday, March 29, 2017, the Friends of Fondren Library will host its annual event honoring Rice faculty, staff, alumni and members of the Friends of Fondren Library who have authored a book published in calendar year 2016, edited a journal published in 2016, composed a major musical work in 2016 or mounted a one-person art show in 2016.

The Books That Shaped My World

Dr. Sarah Whiting, Dean of the School of Architecture and William Ward Watkins Professor of Architecture, will be the featured speaker for the April presentation of The Books That Shaped My World.  Dean Whiting will discuss the books that influenced or had special meaning in her life.  A reception will follow the presentation.
