Introduction to Foreign Patent Searching

Scope

Introduction to searching for foreign patents using the online tools of Espacenet. Includes searching for other types of patent literature and more practice with the new Cooperative Patent Classification (CPC).

Audience

Independent inventors in the community. (Academic patent researchers should contact the department to discuss alternative class arrangements.)

Registration

Advance registration is required. Please call 713-348-5483 to register.

Prerequisite: Please take our introductory patent searching class first explaining how to search for U.S. patents. This class requires familiarity with searching for patents by classification and knowledge of general patent information.

Please note: The department is listed as closed on May 13, 2017, but the class will still be held.
