Importing to Endnote (Engineering Village Databases)

Engineering Village to EndNote Downloading Instructions

The latest release of Engineering Village 2 includes a powerful new feature called Results Manager. Results Manager allows the user to create a set of records in one of three formats: citation, abstract, and detailed record. This set can be printed, e-mailed, or downloaded to the user's local hard drive.

The Download option of the Results Manager places a set of records into a file that can be imported into EndNote (or ProCite or BibTex) bibliographic software

In order for the user to be able to import EV2 records into EndNote, the user must have the following:

The EndNote software correctly installed on his or her PC.

The Ei Compendex (Ei) filter, which can be downloaded from the following site:

http://www.endnote.com/support/enfilters.asp

The filter must be saved into the EndNote filters directory.

There is a three-step process for importing EV2 Compendex records to EndNote:

Select the records of interest and chose the format (or level of detail) desired.

Click on Download in the Results Manager, and then select RIS, Endnote, Procite, Reference Manager.

To import records into EndNote:  Open EndNote, select Import from the File menu. Choose the file to import, select "Ei Compendex (Ei)" for the Import Option in the Import dialogue box, and then click Import.
