Cambridge Stuctural Database System
Using Cambridge Structural Database System (CSDS)
"The Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) contains crystal structure information for over 220,000 organic and metal organic compounds." The ConQuest graphical client for the CSDS permits the user to search for structures by journal citation, compound name, elements present or by drawing a structure to be matched.
Requirements for use of the CSDS:
You must apply for and be granted an account on the University server where the CSDS is installed. An online application form is available. Please note the terms of the acceptable use policy for these accounts, as outlined on the application form.
You must have SSH (Secure Shell) installed on your workstation.
X11 Forwarding must be enabled in the SSH configuration/preferences.
You must have an X-Windows server installed and running on your workstation.
(If you are using a UNIX workstation, requirements #2 and #3 are probably already met.)
