Located at the East Entrance of Fondren Library are 2 self-checkout kiosks. These machines allow patrons to check out their own books quickly and easily. Using the kiosk is simple with the on-screen directions, but please remember these helpful hints:

1, You must have your PIN to use the self-checkout kiosk. Please visit Circulation to obtain your PIN.

2. While scanning the Rice University Library bar code, make sure the spine of the book is pressed into the kiosk.

3. If the kiosk will not check out a particular book, please take the book to the Circulation Desk for assistance.

4. The kiosk uses magnets, please avoid setting electronics on the surface.
