Responsibilities

My responsibilities include:

• Coordinating and improving DMC services
• Consulting and assisting patrons in developing digital media projects
• Updating and maintaining DMC website
• Ordering, configuring and maintaining hardware, software, and equipment
• Managing student's projects and student workers
• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of DMC including its equipment lending program
• Providing user training

Biography

I am the multimedia specialist at the Digital Media Center of Rice University. I provide user training and assist patrons in developing digital media projects including audio, video, graphics, web, and scanning. I oversee the day-to-day operations of the DMC, including its equipment lending program, web site and student projects.

Before coming to Rice, I was the instructional technician at the Curriculum Innovation Center of the Houston Community College where I assisted faculty in developing WebCT courses, helped instructors preparing digital audio, video, graphics, power point, web page files for teaching. I earned an MS in Computer Science from the University of Rhode Island in 2001 and BE in Mechanical Engineering from the Hefei Technological University in 1995.
