Our center has helped historians map events, sociologists color demographics, geologists understand and visualize underground features, architects develop site graphics, biologists see distribution of flora and fauna and track diseases, civil engineers create elevation maps, and anthropologists map languages. Geographic Information Systems software can be applied in an endless list of disciplines. Our center is here to help you understand this technology and help you apply it in your studies and research.

Request help-Rice faculty, staff and students can contact the GIS/Data Center directly or fill out the request for help form for assistance in utilizing GIS for class projects, teaching, or research. |
If you have not worked with GIS before it is best to schedule an appointment for an orientation.
