Did you know that Rice owns its own server farm and data storage system to help researchers with their computational workloads?

In this workshop, we will show you how to access and use:

  • Our networked storage system, the Research Data Facility

  • Our research virtual machine farm, ORION

These are powerful and easy-to-use tools for medium and big datasets, and learning to use them can save you time and money and accelerate your workflows. We will cover the basics of logging in, installing and running software, and using the RDF + ORION combo to run workloads that don’t fit comfortably on your laptop.

This class is accessible to users of any skill level.
