Celebrating Pride Month - June

Pride started as a riot.

In June of 1969, the Stonewall Riots occurred in New York and catalyzed the LGBTQIA+ rights movement. Even to this day, we continue the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights. It is essential to look back, celebrate, and honor those who led the fight to get us where we are today.

Join us in the celebration of Pride as Fondren Library gladly presents an LGBTQIA+ display near the West entrance across from Circulation throughout the month of June.

We aim to amplify the voices of the LGBTQIA+ community by displaying the works of LGBTQIA+ authors and history of the long-term fight for equality.
