Overleaf Overview

Overleaf is a collaborative cloud-based LaTeX tool which makes writing, editing and publishing academic papers much easier than other editors available.  

All Rice University students, faculty, and staff have access to a free Overleaf Pro account. You can sign in at the Rice University home page for Overleaf to access your account.

This course will provide you with a quick start overview of Overleaf, including the following topics:

  • LaTeX (The Beginning)
  • Leveraging Overleaf Professional
  • Templates
  • Downloading Packages
  • Overleaf Integrations: Git, Github, Zotero and others
  • Using the Visual Editor
  • Getting support: Webinars from Overleaf, Fondren Library Libguide
