Join us for Open Studio!
Stop by to try your hand with a movable type printing press in action, or just observe and enjoy getting to know one very special area of the library.
Participants will have the chance to ink and pull their own prints and take them home. No printing experience is necessary.
- Book Beetle is a 21st century recreation of an 18th century common or platen press. This type of press was the penultimate version of the wooden screw press used in "western" printing since the 15th century
