Navigating World Bank Data and Information Resources

This training session is part of a new Kelley Center series of government information literacy instruction - Unlocking the Power of Governnent Information.

The World Bank is an international organization that provides financing, advice, and research to developing countries. The organization’s websites hold a wealth of research resources and data banks that may be useful to those interested in issues related to poverty measurement, delivery of social services, trade, migration, and a whole range of other topics related to development.

This is a hands on training workshop that gives a more in depth overview hoping to provide useful points of departure for users looking for development information.  This workshop will teach you how to navigate World Bank Open Data, the WDI DataBank, Open Knowledge Repository, and their Projects and Operations interactive portal. You will also get a chance to practice using World Bank data under guidance during the session to get started to use this powerful resource.

This workshop is offered by Kelley Center, free and open to Rice and the general public community.
