Audience Eligibility
The session is open to everyone, especially U.S. citizens who are eligible to vote.
Who Needs the Training
- First-time voters (e.g., incoming college students, young adults turning 18).
- Anyone unfamiliar with changes in election laws or procedures in their state.
- Students, faculty, or staff who want to learn how elections work so they can support civic engagement efforts on campus.
- Volunteers helping with voter registration or election outreach, who need to be prepared to answer basic voting questions.
- Community members who haven’t voted in a while and may need a refresher on registration, deadlines, or procedures.
- Newly naturalized citizens who may not yet be familiar with U.S. elections.
Registration
Advance registration is required. Please register online. If you need to cancel your reservation, please send an email to govhelp@rice.edu, so people on the waiting list can take the class.
It is your responsibility to notify the instructor if you will no longer be able to attend.
If you miss a course without notifying staff by the day of the course, your registration for all future courses will be canceled.
