What would make the first floor of Fondren Library your favorite place on campus?
This Spring, we are clearing out low-use materials on the first floor to make room for something new—and we want you to help design it. We are looking for 20 Rice University students to participate in a Summer Design Charrette, a high-energy, in-person, collaborative workshop where you will prototype the future of Fondren Library space.
Charrette Workshop Details:
- Date/Time: Tuesday, June 2nd, 1 pm-4 pm.
- Location: Faculty Atelier Room, 2nd floor, Cannady Hall (Architectural Building next to Fondren)
- Compensation: All participants will receive a $50 Amazon gift card as a thank-you for their intellectual effort and time. Lunch and snacks will be provided!
How to Apply: Space is limited to 20 Rice University students to ensure a focused, collaborative environment. Please complete this brief registration form by May 6th to be considered. We are looking for a diverse range of majors and backgrounds—no design or architecture experience is necessary!
Help us turn "vacant space" into "your space."
Warm regards,
