Strategic Priority 4: Leverage Transformative Technologies
Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming research across nearly every academic discipline, but researchers often need individualized technical assistance to use these tools effectively and responsibly. This project would recruit, train, and mentor student consultants who provide hands-on support for AI, advanced computing, and data-intensive research. The program benefits both researchers seeking assistance and the student consultants themselves, who develop valuable technical, communication, and leadership skills while helping advance research across the university. Donor support would expand Rice's research capacity while preparing students for leadership in an increasingly AI-enabled workforce.
