Adaptive Technology Room Improvements
Fondren Library’s Accessibility and Inclusion Committee in partnership with the Fondren UX Office and the Disabilities Resource Center updated the adaptive technology lab, Room 108, as a part of our Accessibility Services using Student Initiative Funds, and feedback from the Fondren Library Ambassadors. Jeff Koffler, Fondren’s Web Developer/Graphic Designer, added motorized, sit to stand desks, a silent clock for less distraction, and an oversized chair to accommodate various body types.
Computers in the room have the following updates to software:
- JAWS screen reading software
- Kurzweil 3000 scan and read system for individuals with learning disabilities
- ZoomText software for screen magnification
- Dragon Naturally Speaking
- Book Magnifier
- Printer
Renovated Fourth Floor Student Study Lounge
FY23 Fondren Library Student Ambassadors worked with the Fondren UX Office to identify improvements and supplies needed for Fondren Library with funds provided by the Student Initiative Fund.
The fourth floor student lounge, and adjacent Sarah Lane lounge experienced a complete design change to the space, and incorporates diner booth seating, and new MyWay Lounge seats.
