Storing, Managing, and Moving Research Data on CRC Systems

Prerequisites:

• Intro to High Performance Computing (HPC)
• The World is at your Command….line (or knowledge of basic Linux/Unix-like commands)

Overview:

Come to this workshop to learn how to store and use your research data better and in a more scalable way. This workshop will focus on Rice's research data storage platforms and techniques for moving and managing your research data. Topics will include:

• Research Data Facility (RDF) for flexible storage for your lab
• Open Storage Network (OSN) for sharing large datasets
• Research High-capacity Facility (RHF) for high-speed access from the compute clusters
• Cloud based data storage options (Box, OneDrive, Gdrive)
• Data moving tools - scp, rclone, Cyberduck, boto3 python library, Globus
