Congressional Publications Research - Introduction to ProQuest Congressional Database

ProQuest Congressional provides Full-text access to historical (1789- ) and current U.S. Congressional publications, federal bills and laws, information about members of Congress and Congressional committees, and more. It allows you to explore Congress in action with comprehensive online resource available for congressional publications and legislative research. You can perform in-depth research in public policy, historical, and legal areas of interest.

Legal Research - Introduction to HeinOnline Database

HeinOnline is "a premier online research platform that provides more than 232 million pages of multidisciplinary periodicals, essential government documents, international resources, case law, and much more. Composed of fully searchable image-based PDFs and available at an affordable price, the wealth of material allows researchers access to authoritative, true-to-print digital material without the hassle or cost of using multiple research databases." 

Legal Research: Introduction to WestLaw

This course provides you introduction and hands-on training to get you started to use the WestLaw database to do legal research. It is offered by Kelley Center for Government Information partnered with the WestLaw Representative. The training should be especially valuable for the students who plan to take law classes and/or pursuing pre-law track.

Attendee Eligibility

The WestLaw is a licenced commercial database. It is only free accessible for Rice affiliates, so this training is only open to the Rice affiliates.
