Sean Smith is the Senior Facilitator for Research Data and AI at Rice University's Fondren Library, where he coordinates the Research Data Services team. He teaches introductory courses on programming and data analysis and is available to consult on data sources, management, analysis, and visualization as well as using Google AI platforms including Gemini, NotebookLM, and Cloud APIs to further research. Sean has experience with a broad range of data analysis and digital humanities projects.
Sean earned a BA in Computer Science and History at Rice before starting a first career as a software engineer at NI (then National Instruments).
