The public (ages 18 and up) may visit the library during non-Rice visitor hours. A government issued ID is required. See our Getting to Fondren Library page for more information on transportation to and parking on campus.

Alumni Access
Rice University alumni have access to the Rice Alumni Digital Library. For borrowing privileges, alumni can join Friends of Fondren. As alumni, they can do so for a reduced fee.
Friends of Fondren
At this time, all Friends of Fondren members receive:
- Library circulation privileges
- Advanced notice of lectures, receptions, the annual gala, and other special events.
Local universities and museums
Those from local universities, museums and other institutions may have borrowing privileges at Fondren. Please consult our Community Borrowers table to see if you are eligible.
K-12 Classes and other groups
